The Comfort in Slow Mornings
There’s real comfort in slow mornings and trust me, this is coming from someone who is not a morning person by far.
If you’ve been reading The Comfyologist Journal for a while, you might remember me mentioning in another post that I used to be a full-on “on the go” girl. Always moving, always doing, and always rushing. But once I got serious about building a life of true comfort, I realized I couldn’t keep starting my days in chaos and expect peace to magically appear later.
That’s when I made one small but powerful change: I started setting an alarm.
Even if I didn’t have anywhere to be, I made it a rule to get up when that alarm went off. Because honestly, if there wasn’t an alarm, I’d sleep way too long and that would throw off my whole day.
Now, let’s be real nobody wants to be woken up by a loud, annoying sound. But from that one adjustment, something started to shift. My body began to recognize the routine, and eventually, I started waking up on my own.
Now I’m my own alarm.
My mornings aren’t rushed anymore I have time to complete my full facial routine, grab my coffee (or make it if I’m feeling extra), and ease into my day with peace instead of pressure.
And all of that came from one small choice: consistency.
There’s so much comfort in not having to rush, in giving yourself space to breathe before the world starts asking for your energy. That’s what slow mornings do they set the tone for a calmer, more intentional day.
So even if you’re not a morning person (like me), try it.
Set your alarm, get up when it rings, and give yourself a head start on peace.
Because sometimes comfort is just a matter of timing and this time, you control it.
Are you a morning person or a night owl? What helps you start your day without rushing? Drop it in the comments I’m curious who’s setting alarms and who’s sleeping in. ☀️
